“While visiting the Garden of Gethsemane in Jerusalem I was so moved by the ancient olive trees there, some of which are over 2,000 years old. I realized that I was standing before gnarly but living eye witnesses to the events that night which would change forever, the course for mankind.
Typically I start my paintings very methodically, laying out composition, color scheme, size, etc. But with the three in The Passion of Christ trio, I put on worship music, put my brush to the canvases, and watched, as if in third person, the images take form before me. I can very humbly say that I am not the creator of them. I simply held the brushes.”  Liz
