Lion Fountain on King
17.5″ x 15.25″ Framed Watercolor Original: $875 SOLD
“As a young girl, whenever I’d visit my grandmother we took walks. She was big on walks. Since she lived in the city, she was instrumental in making me aware of all the points of interest downtown. One was the Lion fountain/statue on the edge of Reservoir Park on King Street. I loved watching the stream of water shoot out from the lion’s mouth. Some years later the fountain stopped working and for a time, he stood silent, dry, and without any admirers. Just a couple of years ago, I was delighted to find him alive again, water running, and once more guarding the entrance to the city.” -Liz
